The secret story behind Gaurangas incarnation!!

After the manifest Lila of Sri Radha and KRISHNA on this planet, and upon returning to Their eternal abode Goloka Vrindavan, our Beloved Radha and the whole of Vraj were very very upset with KRISHNA, for he had left them stealing theirs hearts at the tender age of 12 and never returned. Srimati Ji had gone into indefinite Maan - strike or “no mood to meet Krishna”. This was a cause for serious concern for Krishna.

Lalita Devi, the foremost of Radhas friends boldly asked KRISHNA, “what kind of justice was this Mr. Cosmic Lover Boy?! What kind of cruel joke was this that you played on our innocent Raaseshwari Radhaa Ji, the very emblem of Love who not for one moment ever forgot you??!! You just packed up and left us NEVER to return even ONCE!!!??”

Vishaka and Ranga Devi further probed rather ironically, “did you ever think what kind of suffering Your “Beloved” must have been thru; what we must have been thru? And if you were not concerned about our feelings, what about your mother Yashoda and father Nanda baba??!! What about your cows Oh “Gopal” or “protector of the cows”??!!

Chitra and Sudevi reminded Him that nobody in the whole spiritual world was currently on His side. The whole of Vraj wants answers.

Of course, we must always remember we are talking about KRISHNA here who is Swayam Bhagwan. Everything He does is absolutely perfect and is supremely poetic on multiple levels. This apparent contradiction of sorts is also perfect and the Gopis and Radha knew this, but it was yet impossible for them to comprehend where perfection and poetry were. The Sakhis and Raadhaji were very VERY curious to know what is this Lila that their “Oh so perfect, the personification of Love in Supreme Truth Sri KRISHNA” had performed.

From the outside, it made no sense. Why would the emblem of love leave His Beloved and never return again? The whole of Braj was thoroughly perplexed. Even Srimati Radhika could not understand what was Krishnas' reasoning in playing this mean Lila. It contradicted all normalcy of actions in Love.

There really wasn’t much of an explanation KRISHNA could give that would pacify the Gopis without it sounding like excuses. Just words weren’t going to satisfy Radhaji and the other Sakhis this time. She had gone into an infinite strike until Krishna comes up with a satisfactory solution. And when Radhaaji goes into Maan, KRISHNA can not function properly. It was as if His left arm itself was paralyzed!

KRISHNA with His head lowered and with ample concern on His face tried to sweet talk His way back in with the Gopis, “My dear most beautiful friends. Please take me to My heart. I can’t live like this without my heart. I need an audience with my Hridoy, Srimati Radhika. Lalita and Vishakha flatly refused. They told Him, He had gone too far and He better come up with an extraordinary solution. What He did was just Not excusable! And there was NO way He was getting an audience with the Queen without explaining Himself to Her friends first. KRISHNA was relentless in desperation now. Please my dearest dames of beauteous fames, how is a man supposed to live without His heart?? Are you Gopis so heartless that you would let a man just die because you won’t help Him.?? The Gopis, already too familiar with the sweet-talking, mesmerizing magic that Krishna is cosmically renounced for knew how He would immediately start to web His magic upon Srimatiji if given the opportunity and therefore flatly told Him, “Krishna You are a sly, cunning, and an unpredictable boy, better You explain Yourself to us first, otherwise forget about an audience with the Queen. WHY DID MR. LOVER BOY LEAVE HIS BELOVED FOR A WHOLE LIFETIME”.

Of course, the very personification of sweetness is Sri Krishna who KNOWN to relentlessly puts sweet spells upon the Gopis now tries with logical reasoning for His actions such as, “I am God and I have responsibilities. I was obliged by duty. I had to deal with demons such as Kansa, Jarasandha, Kaalyavan!! I had royal issues to administer to etc. It was because of this that and the other and I am soo soo sorry” etc etc.

Lalita wouldn’t have it. She stopped Him right there before He could further charm them with His spells of enchanting words, and told Him sharply and clearly, “look boy, we know what you are trying to do and it ain’t working this time. We have seen it one too many times now. All I am hearing is excuses excuses excuses. If you really wanted to come to see the DARLING of Your heart you could have made it happen at least ONCE. So unless you have a REAL solution, it would be better if you just leave us alone (like you left us before) to our services and stop wasting our time”. Speaking suchly the Gopis holding each other’s arms started walking off.

Seeing that the matter is truly serious, KRISHNA realizes that He was going to have to pull off something extraordinary in order to pacify the Queen of His heart and even more so Her friends. He realizes that nothing less than the best is going to work this time as He had crossed all boundaries of decency in Love. He Himself knows that by no means is leaving your beloved for a whole lifetime of heart-wrenching separation is hardly romantic!! He is going to have to make it up to Her by doing something exceptional that She would just LOVE and thus be forgiven by the Queen and thus regain the loving glances of the WHOLE of Vraj.

Since it is Krishna we are dealing with, nothing is a mistake or unthought out already on multiple levels of ultimate poetry. So of course KRISHNA already had a plan. This time His plan was extraordinary. So confidently He calls the girlfriends of Radhaa who are walking off so carefreely. “Dear friends” He exclaims, “please listen to me. I have a sure solution that I guarantee the Queen will be pleased with and accept. Please allow me to present my idea”.

The Gopis, though very happy internally, externally only show curiosity with raised eyebrows and smirky smiles at each other. Lalita the leader of the pack interrogates, “let’s hear it then!”.

So KRISHNA proceeds to tell His extraordinary solution to the Gopis. KRISHNA sincerely explains, “please tell the Queen that I am very very sorry that She suffered because of Me. And to make up for my actions, I will re-incarnate and relive every pang of separatism Her most gorgeous heart had to endure due to my absence. I will suffer every pain She had to go thru to atone myself and regain Her smiling glance upon Me.

At first, the Gopis are quite visibly impressed. They look at each other with expressions of approval. Because nothing less than this proposal would even make sense genuinely and fairly. They can see KRISHNA is being sincere and is nearly in tears. But to Krishna's surprise, the Gopis then start to laugh as if it's a big joke. KRISHNA is confused?? “What? Why are you laughing? I am being serious and sincere. And you are making fun of me.”

Lalitaji proceeds to ask looking at the other Gopis with sarcastic curiosity, “did you say you will relive every single pang of separation that our Queen has endured without You? Did we hear that right?”. “Yes that’s precisely what I said.”, KRISHNA clarifies.

The Gopis start to laugh even more this time clapping as if in a great humorous surprise. KRISHNA is even more perplexed. Lalita challenges, “you won’t be able to handle it. Her pangs of separation are too intense for butter eating softy boy like Yourself Krishna. Give it up. You will loose miserably!!” KRISHNA by now visibly annoyed immediately challenges the Gopis. “You think I am not capable of dealing with some pain??!! That I am some sort of spoiled “butter boy”?? Is that what you are saying?? I am willing to make a bet on this right here right now.” Tungavidya warns KRISHNA, “do NOT bet KRISHNA. You will fail!!”

This time KRISHNA is a bit offended. He defends His position, “what kind of joke is this, that I won’t be able to handle this pain?? I think you girls are forgetting that I am God and there is nothing I can’t do.”

The Gopis are very amused. They laugh a snide laugh and further deride Him, “Hah Radhas foot, You are God. You're getting ahead of yourself yet again. Our Queen Radha is God and You are just lucky She loves You soo much. It is because She has empowered you that You have Your power.

Then together they challenge Him to put wages on the bet! “We Gopis don’t want to hear Your existential issues anymore about if Your God or not. Put Your Lakshmi where Your mouth is. Only than will we talk to You” and they once again start walking off. “Okay okay, I will put anything and everything in My creation online. If I can’t relive the entire life of Radhas pangs of separation than I loose and whatever you want is yours, no bars held?”

Wow! Wao! OMG! And other such sounds of astonishment could be heard throughout creation! Even Shiva on Kailash got a sudden shrill up his spine and must suddenly rush to share this exciting news with Ma Parvati. What was going to happen??!! The whole spiritual world was watching very keenly. Everything and everyone was excited as to see what was transpiring between the Lord and His dear Gopis.

The Gopis are all stunned, shocked, and are in a daze. They can’t believe what they have just heard. KRISHNA had taken up their challenge and given His word that they could ask for anything in His wide creation in case He lost.

When they realized this was actually real the Gopis were ecstatic. They started jumping, dancing, and shrieking in excitement. It was as if they had been given a blank check and could ask KRISHNA to do anything for them. They could possibly ask for Him to do unprecedented favors for the pleasure of the Queen of all their hearts Srimati Radhikaji.

KRISHNA on the other hand had a surprisingly perplexed and annoyed “What” look on his face. The Gopis were dancing and prancing as if they had already won when He was absolutely sure He would win. He was looking here and there as if to say, “could somebody tell these ladies that they haven’t won the bet yet and therefore shouldn’t count their chicks before the eggs hatch.” And Of course, why wouldn’t He think so. He is God after all and what could possibly be impossible for Him in this conceivable and inconceivable world??

The Gopis immediately go into a huddle and most diligently consider what they should ask for since they are sure that KRISHNA is going to loose. Unanimous, they immediately know what to ask for. They all know what would make their Queen Srimatiji most pleased and therefore ask something dearest to Her heart. “If you loose you will have to liberate all the Jivas in this suffering material world, even those who are anímical towards you!! This is our demand if you loose.”

Like a person hooked onto the drug of Supreme Love and not able to get his fix, Krishna was visibly upset that this was taking too long. “What!! Not again!” Krishna protests, “How many times do I have to go to that miserable hell hole called Samsaar?? And you keep on forcing me to go there. These Jivas still won’t listen. They don’t want to listen. They are like pigs who just love their sewage! What purpose is my saffron to these pigs?? What am I supposed to do? I can’t force them. I have gone there to explain their purpose of life and their source of joy innumerable times and yet somehow it doesn’t work. I was just there and you all saw. How many actually heard my message?? And now you ask me to liberate ALL of them. How am I supposed to do that?? Do you want me to forcefully liberate them? You know I can’t do that. It goes against My principles, our principles of Love. Love is a natural attraction. It can’t be forced. You all know that. Besides if I liberate them all, who will bear the karma they have inflicted upon each other?? When a Jiva inflicts pain upon another only that particular inflicted Jiva can forgive the other, not Me. I am equal to all. They are all my children. therefore I do not interfere. Who will bear the karma of the inflicted Jivas? Who will bear their sufferings? This is too much of a mess you are asking me to get into. It is impossible what you are asking from Me. Sorry, ask for something else.” KRISHNA flatly denies it.

“Hah, and you call yourself God and you can’t even take control of Your own creation!” Ranga ridiculous. “Yeah like what kind of God says “I am God and sorry I can’t do that in the same sentence it.” Vishakha further taunts. Krishna abit exasperated, not finding the comedy funny tries to yet further explains. “Please Gopis try to understand. I can’t force the Jiva to love me. Don’t you get it!! They make fun of me saying, “hah look at this egotistical, narcissistic God who says love me or else suffer.” They think I must be deprived and am therefore demanding love. These misconceptions know no boundaries. Why do you Gopis always want to embarrass me amongst the fools, not that it makes a difference to me, but just saying? It’s very simple my darlings, until the Jivas are voluntarily passionate about the principles of Truth (whose greatest devotee and embodiment I am) there is no hope for them. They only love the Truth when they are on the receiving end of it, not while the delivery time comes of being truthful themselves to others. They are hypocrites. How am I supposed to work with these people?? You are asking that darkness may persist in radiance; that somehow the Sun and darkness should subsist together??? Please explain how is this is possible.

Lalita sympathized with Krishna and thus spoke to the Gopis, “yes KRISHNA is right. He can’t force the Jiva to love and honor the Truth, but at least He can make sure they will all know about this supreme joy that we relish called Vraj Prema and Radha Mahima. Knowing this all may have an opportunity to get a natural taste for the highest ecstasies in existence and thus they may gradually be eligible to liberate themselves from their suffering.”

She then turned to KRISHNA and said, “since we Gopis are very sure you will loose the bet and since you have challenged us, here is our demand. You spread the word about our Vraj Prema and Radha Prema Mahima across the world openly so that at least all the Jivas may have a chance to know and then knowingly choose.”

Krishna replied, “Alright! Alright to all your wishes. Agreed. I am Bhagavan and nothing is impossible for me. Besides, I will win this bet anyway, but for the sake of your satisfaction, let’s just say yes to all your demands. I agree with them all. And for the record, you girls just watch how Yogeshwar KRISHNA, or the greatest Yogi for whom any austerity or pain is actually joy deals with emotional imbalance. Watch and learn how a Yogi of the highest order so easily deals with Radhas heartbreak tribulations.”

The Gopis told KRISHNA He had no idea how deep he had gotten Himself into His own bragging and only time would tell. Why were they so sure that KRISHNA would loose? Because essentially KRISHNA had challenged Radha Herself. That He could tolerate the pains of longing as much as She could, and He would incarnate to live it and prove it. And the Gopis and the whole of Goloka know that no one can love like Radha loves, not even KRISHNA. She is THE Queen of love!

The Gopis were all sure that KRISHNA, the spoit lover of their Queen would totally loose. Their reasoning? “well He is a Prince, born with a golden spoon. He is too soft and used to extreme pleasures. He just won’t be able to tolerate Radhas extreme agony of separation from Himself. In a way, the Gopis were telling KRISHNA that You are so sweet that if you were to be us who had to miss You, You would die.

Lalita then says, “let’s take this big talk to the Queen Herself.” And all the Gopis in unison say “Aho, May this be” and proceed to the palace. Lalita and the other main Gopis enter Priyaji's inner chambers to explain the proposal of Krishna's apology. KRISHNA is asked to wait outside as the Sakhis bring His petición to the Queen.

Inside the palace, Radha Ji is sitting on her bed as if lifeless. She stares into the sky with tears streaming down Her golden rosy cheeks. She is missing the Lord of Her life as KRISHNA is missing Her. And now because of Her “maan” She further hasn’t been able to see Him which has brought a certain level of hopelessness even more so.

Lalita and the Gopis are running to bring this news to Her highness. They know very well how much She needs to hear these words. Almost in unison, they start to share the exciting news. Lalita has to calm the others and conveys KRISHNA's message in an orderly.

When Radha Ji heard this most astonishing proposal she is both amused and curious?? Is KRISHNA seriously going to be able to do what He is embarking on? Because She knew how difficult it was for Her. Nobody knows more than Her how much suffering She underwent. Now KRISHNA is suggesting to endure the same unbearable ordeal. She thought out loud, “Could this be true.? Is He actually saying He will do all that for me?? Well, at least He is sincere.” Now She snaps out of her daze and practically asks. “Where is my KRISHNA?”. “He is waiting outside the palace” Indulekha replies. She immediately gets up and starts running for the gates. She has forgotten that She isn’t fully dressed and Her Kajal is all smeared due to Her tears. Her hair is opened and one ankle bell is not on as well, but She is just running as a person dying of thirst runs to a spring. Lalita catches hold of Her and tells Her to wait. All the Gopis immediately get engaged in dressing Her up and preparing Her to meet Her sweet Beloved. Radha Ji surrenders to the wish of Her dear girlfriends. But by now She is already in full samadhi at the prospect of meeting KRISHNA!

Now, once ready all the Gopis gently escort Her to meet KRISHNA. They are all soooo excited to see each of Their expressions upon meeting. It’s been a whole lifetime since they have met and now the Gopis can hardly wait for Them to meet each other again. Radha is walking very fast. Almost running. She can’t wait. As She comes closer to the entrance of Her palace, She now starts to run. She is now calling out KRISHNA!! Loudly. KRISHNA sees Her coming and starts running towards Her. All the Gopis are also running behind Her now. Just as She is about to reach KRISHNA, Radha Ji faints and enters into Mahabhav Samadhi. KRISHNA immediately holds Her in His mighty arms and joins Her in Her Mahabhav Samadhi. Now both the Divine couple have turned inert as if statues.

The Gopis headed by Vishakha start to sing just the raga that needs to be sung. Chitra and others get busy preparing the proper potions to offer upon Their revival from Samadhi. Champakalata and others are busy spreading enhancing aromas for appropriate relaxation and intensity. Tunga Vidya is chanting mystical chants and fanning Their lordships as a wise Shaman would do. The whole of Goloka has entered into awe and is watching dumbstruck. All sorts of ecstatic symptoms are manifesting throughout Goloka. From the grass, flowers, birds, and animals to the rocks, earth, and water all are literally dripping in heart nectar. All are conscious beings and are witnessing Supreme Love in interaction.

Now the singing of Sangkirtan starts to get louder and louder. They are singing Radha Radha Radha and KRISHNA wakes from His Samadhi, but He can barely open His eyes and He looks at Her and swoons again and looses external consciousness. Then the Gopis start to sing KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA and Radhaji awakens from Her Mahabhav Samadhi. She tries to get up and dance to these most enchanting names but reenters Samadhi immediately. In this way, the Gopis are relishing the moods of the Divine Couples' extreme ecstasies.

So as to make sure that this Mahabhav Samadhi doesn’t go into the realm of eternity and the Lila go on, Lalita now casts her spell and both awaken and stay awakened. Radha still in Krishnas's arms smilingly asks Her beloved, “is it true? Did you really tell these Gopis what they told me? You know you don’t have to do that. I am happy with just your desire to do it. I forgive you. But still, I am curious why did you play such a cruel Lila?” KRISHNA smiling with tears in His eyes and a choking voice says to Radha, “oh my dear Heart, the Love that You hold for me knows no bounds. And therefore such an extreme scenario was created to witness the furthest extreme of Your topmost Love. This separation was only to facilitate that. And now I want to taste this supreme nectar known as Radhas Viraha-Prem as well. So my dear Beloved please bless me that I may also taste Your moods and Supremely joyful sufferings in Prema. By my doing so I may also atone for my apparently contradictory actions.

Radha Ji now got up looking a bit perplexed and anxious. “So this means you are going to leave me again now? She asks innocently. KRISHNA tries to reason, “but your friends forced Me to bet and I accepted it. Now I am word bound to them. If they agree than I may stay.” Radha looks towards the Gopis headed by Lalita as if to ask for permission. All the Gopis deny in unison immediately. For two reasons 1. They want to actually see if Krishna can pull thru or not. 2. Internally confident that He would loose, they definitely wanted that blank check so they may ask for unprecedented things to please their Queen. Therefore they immediately denied the plea with external protests such as, “we knew this boy would sweet-talk His way into your heart and get away unpunished. Sudevi retorted, “He must be punished. Radha you are too nice to Him and He just takes advantage of you. Sorry, Radha we can’t allow this. We only allowed Him to meet you because He promised. He must fulfill His promise.”

KRISHNA relents and gets up and starts to prepare to leave. As He is leaving Radha grabs His hand and asks where do you think You are you going? “I am setting out to fulfill my promise.” Replies KRISHNA. “Then I am also coming,” Radha says. “We are also coming”. All The Gopis say. And down to the hell hole Sangsaar Their Lordships and Their whole awnteradge enter. They take Their birth in different parts of India and the Lila of the Lord as Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu starts.

Sri Krishna takes the incarnation of Gauranga to relish the nectar of KRISHNA Prema and Radha incarnates as Gadadhar to witness Her own moods and also guide KRISHNA in His endeavors because She knew He would have a rough time. And all the other main Gopis appear as Gauranga's associates such as Raya Ramananda Swarupa Damodar and others. All of them very much in astonishment of Prabhu’s Lilas.

Sri Chaitanya performed innumerable astonishing Lilas in Radhas moods of Separation from Himself. They are each excursion into the heart of the Divine Couple. KRISHNA Das Kaviraj, Lochan Das, and Vrindavan Das have written them in most exquisite poetry.

Prabhu couldn’t handle the intensity of Radha Prema for long. At the age of 48, two years less than halfway, KRISHNA put up His hands and said, “I can’t tolerate any longer. I surrender” and enters into Tota Gopinath! The Gopis and Bhaktas were yet again in awe of the prowess of Srimati Radhika’s Prema. The Lord of ALL, Swayam Bhagavan has accepted defeat at the feet of His Beloved. For all to witness yet again the glory of Her superiority in the realm of love.

And now brothers and sisters the time has come where KRISHNA is fulfilling His promise to deliver the message of His topmost Radha-Prema across the globe to all who will listen. Now in every town and village, the names of KRISHNA have been heard and thus all who have heard will get the opportunity to know!! We are in a time of gold!! We get to be part of this Lila if we so desire to. Small or big all are called to the gates of Madhur-Vrindavan. Take it with all your heart if you want the greatest of fortunes to dawn upon you. Let us all be flowers in the basket of our Guru to be offered at the feet of our Lord by the hands of our Queen Srimati Radha Rani!!!
