Day 7 Varsana garbage picking Seva. It's a super Sunday here. We have had night shifts doing seva as well. Cows are an unlimited source of divine poetry. Sri Krishna is the Supreme Poet - "Adi-Kavaye", or the Original Poet. 
Let's delve deeply into the Supreme poetry of this cow, its milk, yogurt, and finally butter which our beloved Makhan-Chor, Shri Krishna then so enthusiastically steals as if it is the one thing that He is starving for. What is this butter that God Himself must constantly steal from His beloved devotees? Who are these cows that God Himself herds them all day long? Let’s delve.
According to the Srimad Bhagavatam 10th canto, chapter 14 known as Bramha Vimohana Lila, Krishna's cows are actually love-perfected saintly beings. When Bramha steals the cowherd boys and the calves, then Sri Krishna expands Himself into those calves and boys for a period of a year. During this time Balaramji observes that the mothers of these boys and calves are overflowing with extra love. Balaramji says to Shri Krishna, “Dear Krishna these calves and cowherd boys are not the same SAGES that used to be your calves and cowherd boys. There is something else going on here due to which the mothers are overwhelmed with love”.
Hereby we get a clear indication from Shri Guru Balaramji who Krishna cows actually are. This is the most revealing definition of the cows in the spiritual world coming from the scriptures. These cows are actually love-perfected beings, who are pure Bhaktas of the Lord with whom Shri Krishna spends His entire day entertaining them. He plays His flute for them, personally feeds them, baths them, plays with them, and coming back home bathes in the dust from the feet of these “cows” as the massive flock creates a dust storm walking back home from grazing!!! The dust is then renowned as "Gaushala". This shows just how much our Beloved Lord actually loves His devotees/cows. He spends the whole day entertaining His loving devotees/cows. It melts my heart to know this.
These “cows” are symbolic and poetic as Krishna's cows are fully enlightened beings. They bring attention to a particular characteristic, trate or nature which these cows represent. Their nature is SIMPLICITY and total DEPENDENCE on their Master the Supreme cowherd boy Shri Krishna. In essence just as cows are fully surrendered and totally dependent upon their Master, so are the devotees of SHRI KRISHNA fully dependant and surrendered 110% to His will and desire. And the Lord in reciprocation adores and serves His “cows” with His whole heart along with ALL His eternal associates.
As Sadhakas, these cows have a lot to teach us. They show us how to be in order to please Shri Krishna. The Lord doesn’t like over smartness. Surrendered simplicity is most certainly a qualification to please Krishna. He herds a flock of Truth seekers and He is the Supreme personification of this Truth. This is His flock and there is no way an ego-centric, over a smart person, is entering this flock without first purifying their ego to the capacity of total surrender and dependence on ONLY the Truth. And this is what these cows represent. No questions asked, just follow the personification of Truths leadership. Let the Supreme Leader of Truth lead us. Let the Supreme
